Waldorf Enrichment offers an opportunity to explore with new perspectives: emotional intelligence for teachers, parent work, working with colleagues and school administration. The focus this fall is the inner work of the teacher, ‘Heart Thinking.’

Philosophy/Anthroposophy
Intuitive Thinking as a Spiritual Path
In this course we will take a deeper dive into the philosophical background of Anthroposophy in the context of Intuitive Thinking as a Spiritual Path, one of Rudolf Steiner’s essential books. We will explore each chapter through presentations, artistic activities, and collaborative group work. This class spans seven 1.5-hour online sessions throughout the fall semester and ends with group project presentation in December. We will approach the content of this book through thinking, feeling and willing.

Grades Intensive I
Mathematics in Grades 7 and 8. Introducing the Magic of Algebra & Platonic Solids.
Algebra: “Restoring and balancing”, “the reunion of broken parts” - how to find the whole when only given a fragment? Formulas describing relationships that are not limited to any one particular set of numbers, but remain consistent even as the particular quantities they describe vary.
Algebra is a significant step achieving its crown in eighth grade Platonic Forms, and the new techniques for describing forms removed from quantity introduced in Medieval Arabia.

WISC offers this Threefold Event, free of charge as an opportunity for our Southern California community to come together, connect, and share in the spirit of Waldorf education. Participants will hear an inspiring presentation on threefold social practices and engage in song and story with Baba the Storyteller. They will also take part in role-play exercises that address real-life scenarios schools face today.

Engaging parents in a child's EC journey. Developing strong teacher-assistant teamwork. Celebrating Festivals in the early childhood classroom
The bond between family/parents/guardians and the EC teacher can be a vital factor in a child’s overall experience in the early childhood years. These precious years provide an opening for parents eager to learn about healthy practices, as well as giving them a role to engage with the classroom through the seasonal rhythms of the year. Essential too in the classroom is the supporting role of EC assistants. We will look at ways the EC teacher can work to build an effective and caring team for the children. Fall is full of seasonal festivals, our crafts will help us prepare for these wonderful experiences
